ICC World Cup: India, New Zealand share points as match washed out due to rain

Nottingham June 13
In the ICC Cricket World Cup, India were forced to split points after their match against New Zealand was called off without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain at Trent Bridge in Nottingham today.

Umpires inspected the ground after the rain relented, and the toss was delayed but the conditions were not favourable. India now have five points from three matches while New Zealand have seven from four games.

Nottingham has been witnessing incessant rain for the last three-four days and today's match was fourth in the tournament to have ended without any result.

It has been a disappointment for fans across the world who have been waiting for the tournament for 4 years.

After Sri Lanka-Bangladesh clash on Tuesday was called off without a ball being bowled, voices have been raised for reserve day.

Tomorrow, Hosts England will face West Indies in their World Cup 2019 league encounter at the Rose Bowl.
