| Indian Army recovers civilian vehicle after accident in Bandipora village | | | |  Bandipora, Jan 7 : The Indian Army came to the rescue of a civilian in Gundpora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after his vehicle skidded off a bridge and fell into a nearby water stream on Wednesday.
Tanvir Ahmed Khan, son of Gulam Ahmed Khan and a resident of Sumbal, was travelling in his newly purchased Swift Dzire when the accident occurred. He immediately contacted the nearby Bapura Army Camp Company Commander, whose number he obtained from locals.
Army personnel responded without delay, rushing to the spot with recovery equipment. They carried out a prompt operation to recover the vehicle and extended necessary assistance to ensure the safety of the individual.
Officials said the swift action prevented the situation from turning tragic and highlighted the Army’s readiness to serve beyond its conventional duties.
Expressing gratitude, Tanvir Ahmed Khan praised the Army personnel for their professionalism, swift response, and humanitarian approach.
Locals also lauded the Indian Army’s timely intervention, saying such acts of selfless service strengthen trust and confidence in the force.
Officials said the Army continues to play a vital role not only in safeguarding the nation but also in assisting civilians during emergencies in the region.
