1369 heavy vehicles cross Mughal Road towards Kashmir | | | Rajouri, Sept 10: The Mughal Road on Wednesday witnessed heavy traffic movement with around 1369 heavy vehicles carrying goods moving towards Kashmir. Alongside it, 850 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) also plied on the road. Superintendent of Police (SP), Traffic, Jammu Rural, Girdhari Lal Sharma said that 450 LMVs, mostly cars and cabs, travelled via Mughal Road towards Kashmir on Wednesday. He said that the road connecting Shopian in Kashmir with Poonch in the Pir Panjal region witnessed the passage of 1369 heavy vehicles.
Sharma said that among these 1369 heavy vehicles, 1073 were trucks carrying essentials, including eatables, vegetables, and ration, while 119 trucks were loaded with live chicken birds.
He said that 159 oil tankers were also part of the convoy, and these tankers were given priority passage to ensure adequate supply in Kashmir.
“Seventeen trucks loaded with LPG cylinders also moved to Kashmir,” Sharma said.
He said that around 400 LMVs moved from Kashmir to Pir Panjal region with most vehicles having Jammu as end destination. (curtesy for greater kashmir)
