24 people killed, 19 injured in two road accidents in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh

At least 24 people were killed and 19 other injured in two road accidents in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

In the first one, 15 agriculture workers were killed and 15 others injured when a tractor plunged into a canal in Yadadri district of Telangana.

The incident occurred when the tractor carrying the workers fell in Musi canal near Veligonda. The dead include 14 women and a boy. The agriculture workers were on their way to nearby fields for sowing when the mishap took place.

Police personnel and revenue workers with the help of locals retrieved the bodies from the canal. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed shock over the incident. He conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed officials to provide best medical care to the injured.

In the second accident, 9 people killed and 4 others severely injured after a State Road Transport Corporations bus rammed into an auto in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The victims were travelling in an auto from Kurnool to Mahanandi. Main cause of the accident is said to be overload of passengers.
