WHO WILL BELL THE CAT?

ammu 7 June:(Ashok Raina) - You must have heard this song from the 1971 movie which is still very popular that gol maal hai bha_i sab gol maal hai”and how to round up the goods on paper work is not a difficult task for any officials as such this is the reason why the condition of refugee camps is being described as very pathetic today.

How do they round up the goods and put them in their pockets? It is an art or we can call it a trap in which they trap poor people in a very bad sense, like the cages of pigeons.

You know at some places, buildings vanished as soon as they were seen and at other places, shops that were built were demolished on which crores of rupees were spent from the government treasury without any allotment to needful and desired unemployed youth and without any investigation the serious matter or without any file of charge sheet against any responsive authority of state.

Despite the number of times that the scandals being exposed every time regarding the repair works of dilapidated buildings in the displaced camps, no action has been taken till date for the unknown reasons known by the administration of concerned departments.

The government is claiming to have repaired the bathrooms and toilets of largely pathetic buildings several times during the same year and it is obvious that why the bathrooms and toilets are being repaired again and again, to which elements the contract is given and at whose behest so much looting and extracting is taking place from the government treasury, the Kashmiri displaced people have expressed shock on this matter and have demanded an inquiry into the matter.

It is only few and influential persons who are getting their repair works by way and by virtue of bribe and corruption have got a number of allotments and h maximum among them have their own houses, said by another old age citizen on condition of anonymity.

If we talk about water supply in the refugee camps then the mental state is extremely bad and worth crores of rupees were wasted under this program. There was a lot of hue and cry about water supply then and even today the situation is almost the same without any change.

Even as the work of replacing septic water tanks has been taken up, people have made many allegations against the responsible administration, in which it has also been said that the septic water tanks brought for the refugee camps have been sold to many house owners on the way, while many refugee families are still deprived of those septic water tanks are crying for replacement and to what extent this is true, there is a need to investigate thoroughly the matter said another refugee on anonymity basis .

How many times have the painters applied polish to hide the reality of the crumbling buildings till date and if the details of the expenditure on that polish are sought from the administration, then certainly so much money would not have been spent on the basic construction work of the buildings.

It is vividly known by all that the current condition of the buildings is visible before our eyes, which is quite pathetic, deplorable and no less than a well of death and at any time, poor and needy people will be victims of the biggest tragedy

The matter involves crores of rupees scandal and is quite a serious matter that has raised many queries upon the intention of responsible and answerable administrative men.

If any incident were to occur tomorrow or at any time in the future, then it is also necessary to take cognizance of which officers would be held responsible in this context should need to frame the charges in advance but who will bell the cat?
