In IPL cricket, Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 20 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last night. Put in to bat first, Chennai amassed a total of 206 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 69 runs from 40 balls while Shivam Dube scored 66 off 38 balls. Mumbai just managed to score 186 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana of CSK was adjudged Player of the Match for his exceptional spell, securing four crucial wickets for 20 runs.
In a earlier match yesterday, Kolkata Knight Riders beat Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kolkata overhauled the target of 162 in just 15.4 overs. Philip Salt remained unbeaten, scoring 89 runs off 47 balls. He was adjudged Player of the Match.
Put in to bat first, Lucknow scored 161 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs.
