To monitor the implementation of the government's Karma Yogi program for training civil servants and envisioned as one of the largest capacity building initiatives in government institutions anywhere in the world, Mission Karma Yogi aims to create a shared understanding of the country's priorities, and for effective and efficient public service.

The Mission Karmayogi - National Program for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) offers civil service officers the Karmayogi Bharat Portal, an online learning platform with the aim to create a competent civil service rooted in Indian ethos, with a shared understanding of India's priorities, working in harmonization for effective and efficient public service delivery. Mission Karmayogi aspires to build a Future Ready Civil Service equipped with the right Attitude, Skills and Knowledge, aligned with the vision of New India.

Karmayogi Bharat's vision is to transform the Indian civil services capacity-building landscape by establishing a robust digital ecosystem enabling continuous anytime-anywhere learning to make the officials future ready. To fulfill the vision, the mission adopted the aim to guide civil service officials in their competency-based capacity building journey by enabling online, face-to-face, and blended learning, facilitating discussions through topical forums, managing career paths, and enabling reliable assessments that credibly signal competencies of officers.

Working in harmony is to create a competent civil service rooted in the Indian ethos. The mission seeks to place the civil service at the centre of all change, empowering them to deliver in challenging environments. Thus, by design, Mission Karmayogi adopts a citizen-centric approach to civil service reforms.

The government recently launched an institutional framework under the National Program for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) or Mission Karmayogi ,as part, the Cabinet has approved the setting up of the Secretariat Coordination Unit or CSCU. Citing an order issued by the personnel department on Monday CSCU as Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat, DoPT Secretary, Home Secretary, Expenditure Secretary, Environment, Forests and Climate Change Secretary, Higher Education Secretary and Revenue Secretary .The members will be nominated. While the Chief Executive Officer of Karmayogi Bharat and the Secretary of the Capacity Building Commission will be permanent invitees to this 12-member panel.

The CSCU will also review the monitoring and evaluation framework reports and submit them to the PMHRC, shall act as the secretariat of the PMHRC" and to align all stakeholders, the order said. It added that the CSCU would be convened quarterly or when deemed appropriate.
