Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed the victory in Karnataka as extraordinary.
Addressing party workers in New Delhi Tuesday evening, Mr Modi said, opposition tried to deceive people during the polls with lies but people have given them a befitting reply.
He said, no one could think that in this election, Congress would hurt India's constitution only for its political interests.
Mr Modi said, the opposition parties lied saying that BJP is a party of Hindi speaking states.
He said, BJP represents India and its proud diversity and it is giving governance in states like Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra and in the North-East which are non-Hindi speaking states.
The Prime Minister said, the Karnataka election has had a great impact on him. He said, lack of knowledge of language was a hurdle for him, but people of Karnataka gave him so much love that language was never a barrier.
Mr Modi said, due to Amit Shah's strategy and hard work of party workers, BJP is on a winning path. He assured people of Karnataka that BJP is with them in their development journey.
The Prime Minister said, he is happy about Karnataka's victory but on the other hand, he is saddened by the loss of lives in Varanasi. Mr Modi assured that the government will do whatever it can to support these families.
In his address, BJP president Amit Shah said, after independence, Congress party fought the Karnataka polls in the most unethical way.
He said, the Congress colluded with anti-national PFI and SDPI in the Karnataka assembly polls who are security threat to the nation. Mr Shah said, Congress also tried to divide people on the caste lines.
He said, BJP has already won the last 14 elections and this is the 15th one. He said, in 2019 BJP will not only form the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi but will also fulfill the dream of a New India in 2022.
Expressing concerns about the incidents in West Bengal before and during panchayat polls, Mr Modi said, it is unfortunate that a land as great as West Bengal has to see such sights.
He said, it is a matter of serious concern that people were not allowed to file nominations.
Mr Modi said, it is not only BJP people who suffered but people from all the leading parties except the one that rules West Bengal suffered.
The Prime Minister said, it was nothing but a murder of democracy. He asked where was the spirit of democracy from the nomination stage to the day of polling. | | | | |
