Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank visited Samba region branches to promote credit dispensation at rural level

Sh. Janak Raj Angural, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) during his visit to Branch offices Samba, Swankha More, Jakh & Kartholi; encouraged the Branch Heads to promote schemes like Self Help Group (SHG), Joint Liability Group (JLG), NRLM, KCC, etc. In his presence, a SHG named “Jai Gurudev”, presided by Smt. Santosh Kumari, was financed by Branch Office Samba to the tune of Rs. 2 lakhs under UMEED scheme of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Other dignitaries present during the occasion were Sh Vipan Gupta (HoD, FIID), Sh Ajay Bharti (HoD, GAD), Sh. K.L. Sharma (HoD, HRDD), Sh Mukul Mehta (Pvt. Secy. To Chairman) & Sh Satdev Singh.
Chairman, JKGB during his visit to these branches impressed upon the Branch Heads to extend the coverage of various SHG, JLGs and disburse quality KCC loans and ensure KCC RUPAY cards are issued to each and every KCC holder. Stressing upon these schemes, he said that these play a vital role in the overall development & upliftment of our rural populace and also increases Bank’s credit dispensation to a desirable level.
Sh Rahul Slathia, BH Samba, assured the Chairman that his branch will actively engage with the operational SHGs, JLGs and ensure that quality credit is dispensed after thorough appraisal, thereby, ensuring credit is made available at the right quarters for overall economic development.
Sh Vipan Gupta, HoD (FIID, JKGB) said that the Bank will continue with its active contribution in Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion activities throughout the state, And for ongoing Social Security Schemes campaign, he sought full dedicated efforts from the Branch Heads along with their staff. He talked in detail about schemes of SHG, JLG, NRLM, KKC Loans and its accompanying benefits during his interaction with the customers of branches visited. He said that promotion of these schemes become our moral duty as bankers because by timely financing needs of aspiring rural populace, we can make them turnaround their lives in the best possible way.
At last, Chairman said that upon quality assessment of these credit linked schemes at rural level, there is very less scope of default which is very much there in case of other major advances. So in other words, it is the safest option available with the Bank if properly reviewed at root level and, thereby, must be promoted with full zeal and enthusiasm.
