Anganwadi workers and Helpers protest in Srinagar
 
Srinagar, Mar 18 (Agencies): Demanding release of state share to Anganwadi employees, the Anganwadi workers and Helpers on Monday staged a protest here at Srinagar’s Pratap Park to press for their demands.
Dozens of Anganwadi workers and Helpers assembled at Pratap Park here and chanted slogans in favour of their demands.
Holding banners, the Anganwadi workers and Helpers demanded Governor Satya Pal Malik led administration to fulfill their demands at an earliest.
Talking to media reporters, the Anganwadi workers and Helpers said that Governor has failed to fulfill the promises done with them by not providing the state share of Rs 500 to Anganwadi workers and Rs 360 to helpers.
They said the Governor in August last year; the Governor announced the state share of Rs 500 to Anganwadi workers and Rs 360 to helpers but all in vein as “we didn’t get a single penny from the government so far.”
They vowed to continue their struggle, saying they will continue to press for their demands till the state share will be provided to them.
Anganwadi workers and Helpers later appealed the Governor led administration to look into the matter and fulfill their demands at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief
