AIKS meets on immovable properties of displaced community, demands National Relief Commissioner

New Delhi Feb 13(Chief Bureau)
To defend the serious issues of the displaced community, All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) held an extraordinary meeting, under the Chairmanship of Col. Tej Tikoo (Retd.), to deliberate upon the acceptable request of the organisation to consolidate the position of properties left in valley on exodus of 1989-90.
The pensive debate was initiated by the General Secretary, M K Pajan, Vice President Vijay Kashkari and Treasurer Sanjay Sapru.
This drive is being taken, taking in consideration the order issued by the Hon’ble High Court J&K at Jammu. By the order, the court has fined State Government Rupees 20000/- for not complying early orders of the Hon’ble High Court to produce the details of properties of the displaced persons of the community. In view of this stalemate, AIKS has issued an appeal to the community to forward details of distress sale/encroachment/illegal occupation of immovable properties belonging to individuals, groups and institutions. The specifics can be filed online, for which the AIKS Website, http://www.aiks.org needs to be visited.
The objective is to keep the details ready for future use at various fora. The members demanded that the State government should be urged to compile the records as per the law promulgated and communicate steps taken under section 4 of J&K Migrants Immovable Property (Preservation, Protection & restrain on Distress Sale) Act 1997.
AIKS further resolves; as the state government has failed to address the aspirations of the displaced Kashmiris and defaulted to take appropriate action against illegal occupants, central government is called upon to post National Relief Commissioner for Kashmiri Migrants, at least of the rank of Jt.Secretary to the Government of India.
