Mega projects sanctioned for Chenab valley districts: Dr. Jitendra Singh
 
GOOL (RAMBAN), JANUARY 19: Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that development of hilly and for flung areas of country including North Eastern Region and J&K is on priority of central government. He said that various development works have been executed in Gool area with an expenditure of Rs 50 lakh from his MP fund.

The union Minister said this after inaugurating a two day Multi-Speciality Medical Camp (MSMC) organised by Army here.

Dr. Singh informed that mega development projects have been sanctioned for hilly districts of Chenab valley including three tunnels at Chatter Galla on Bahsoli Bhaderwah- Pull Doda road, Khellani to Sudhumahdev, Kaljujgasar to Chamba besides various other projects for the convenience of hilly population and improving road connectivity. He asked the PRIs to approach the DDC for sanctioning of road projects for unconnected areas under PMGSY.

He directed the DDC, Ramban to submit a proposal for establishing Kendriya Vidalya at Gool besides starting construction work on Maitra Bridge over river Chenab, sports stadium Gool, Community Hall at Sangaldan, and installation of solar lights etc.

The camp was held by the Army Medical Corps in association with the Uniform Force and district administration Ramban here at the Government Higher Secondary School, Gool.

Dr. Singh interacted with the patients and reviewed the facilities being provided by the Army in the camp in the presence of Director General, Army Medical Corps, Lt. Gen. Dr. Manmoy Ganguly, his deputy MG, (Medicine) Headquarter Northern Command, Maj. Gen. (Dr.)Sharad Bhatnagar, GOC, Uniform Force, Maj. Gen. Dheeraj Seth, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat and SSP, Ramban, Anita Sharma besides several civil and army officers.

Addressing the locals, Dr Singh said that such medical camp provide quality health care facility to the populace of hilly areas of the state.



Speaking on the occasion, Gen. Ganguly said that the Camp was the idea of Dr. Jitender Singh who had asked him to hold a medical camp where the villagers of this remote hilly and backward Tehsil of Ramban could be provided those medical facilities which otherwise are provided in Jammu or Srinagar.

During the camp three thousand patients from every nook and corner of the Gool- Gulabgarh constituency were examined by a team of 20 doctors including super-specialists.

The doctors included Surgeon, ENT specialist, Ophthalmologist, Physician Specialist, Orthopaedician, Endocrinologist, Gynaecologist, Paeditrician, Radiologist, Physiotherapist, Dental Surgeon besides five Nursing Officers.

The hallmark of the Camp was an ICU, an Operation Theater, a clinical laboratory set up at the venue with portable sophisticated equipments and machines including X-ray and Ultrasound machines which provided immediate on spot emergency treatment to the serious patients.

Earlier DDC Ramban in his welcome address presented a brief of development activities being executed in district under different schemes.
