Bar Association hits DC Anantnag right, left and Centre

Anantnag, Dec 14, (Agencies) Bar Association Anantnag Friday pitched for the transfer of incumbent District Development Commissioner saying that the said Magistrate has miserably ‘failed’ to address the grievances of people of the district.
While addressing a press conference, President Bar Association Anantnag Advocate Fayaz Ahmed Sodagar alleged that mini-secretariat Anantnag has become the hub of corruption where employees have not been transferred in decades. He said people visit mini-secretariat with a hope to get their grievances addressed but the employees there fleece them and no work is done till common people grease the palms of employees. “All this has been happening under the nose of incumbent District Development Commissioner who has created mess in the district,” he said.

Fayaz Ahmed Sodagar said that Bar Association is sensing a deep anguish and agony vis-à-vis the failure of duty by Deputy Commissioner Anantna. “The said errant Deputy Commissioner has totally failed to reach and maintain the work culture standards in terms of both quantity and quality. In order to conceal his competence, the said official has developed arrogant behavior,” he said.

“The inhabitants of Anantnag including the members of Bar are in day in and day out hearing from the corridors of DC’s office that the said official is either busy in a meeting or is not feeling well, as a result of which he is not able to deliver goods for which he has been posted. In fact the said official has remained all along in his service tenure a mere piece of ‘Dead Wood’ and his name is included as an alleged accused of big scams of state of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Sodagar said that common man in the district is suffocated due to inability of DC Anantnag to deliver goods. “Instead of bridging the gap between common man and the government the DC Anantnag has been widening it. He is the biggest barriers and hurdle. It has become a routine for him to humiliate and insult those poor people who approach him,” he said appealed authorities to transfer him immediately from the district.

“Bar Association also demands an enquiry with regard to credentials, conduct and performance of this official be conducted in the interest of general public of district Anantnag,” he said
