Drabu presents 2017-18 Budget in JK assembly
7th pay commission from April 2018, over 60 thousand casual laborers to be regularized
 
Jammu, Jan 11 (KNS): Much to the delight for over sixty thousand casual laborers, Minister for Finance Haseeb Drabu while presenting the 2017-18 Budget Wednesday said a committee already appointed for regularization of 61,000 casual labors will process their regularization.
According to KNS correspondent, presenting Annual Budget 2017-18 in the State Assembly Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu declared that 7th pay commission recommendations for State Government Employees would be implemented from April 2018.
Announcing the Government decision Finance Minister thanked the State Government employees for agreeing to defer the implementation of 7th pay commission recommendations for one year to finalize the regularization of 61,000 seasonal, casual workers working in different parts of the State Government.
Saying that operations will be the focus of the new budget Finance Minister said, government would also provide social security system to commercial contractors as the government has already asked the Jammu and Kashmir bank to issue credit ATM cards to these commercial contractors.
He also said that zero based manpower audit would be ensured in the coming financial year and recruitment rules for appointments would be reviewed without abolishing any department. (KNS)
