JK bags 2 national awards for impressive performance in PMGSY
 
NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 11: Implementation of Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Jammu and Kashmir has got recognition from the Union Government with the state bagging two national awards at a function held here today.

The awards were presented by the Union Ministry for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj to J&K for being second best state across the country in achievement of road length constructed under PMGSY. The second award for presented to J&K for accomplishing3rdrank among all the states across the country for number of habitations connected through PMGSY roads.

On behalf of the State Government, the awards were received by Commissioner Secretary PWD, Khurshid Ahmad Shah and Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu, Satpaul Manhas, from Union Minister for Rural Development, Narinder Singh Tomar at a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan here.

Pertinently, the award ceremony is a yearly event in which the Union Ministry evaluates the performance of all States in implementation of the schemes of the central schemes on various identifiable parameters.
