BJP demands magisterial inquiry into failure of audio system at Shere-Kashmir Stadium

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16 (Agencies): Taking strong note of the abrupt snag in the audio system during the national anthem and cultural program at Shere-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium on the eve of Independence Day, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State Spokesman Altaf Thakur took a dig at the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Khan for callous arrangements at the venue stating that the matter is of a serious concern and calls for a magisterial inquiry.
Thakur also said that it is for the first time that ill arrangements of the administration have come to fore as last year also on the occasion of Independence Day, national flag couldn’t be unfurled by the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti properly as that fell on the ground bring utter disgrace to the entire administration.
In a statement issued here, Thakur said that yet again on August 15 eve, at Shere-e-Kashmir Stadium Sonwar, audio system broke down twice, one at the time of national anthem and second at the time of cultural event.
Thakur also said that Governor N N Vohra’s address to the people couldn’t not be heard by the people due to the poor audio quality and that the seating arrangement plan conceived by the administration was so poor that it looked that Governor was addressing to the open air as audience was sitting on his back.
Thakur said that audio system wasn’t inspected and developing a fault at the time when national anthem was being sung, amounts to dishonoring not only the national flag but also the priceless sacrifices offered by the hundreds of martyrs for keeping the flag high.
The BJP State spokesman said that it seems there is a conspiracy behind such developments as they keep on happening on the important occasions including Republic Day and Independence Day. Thakur said only magisterial inquiry by sitting judge can find out the actual reason behind such sudden technical snags at important occasions as the BJP considers falling of national flag when it is supposed to be unfurled and sudden fault in the audio system as a conspiracy to defame the national flag and national anthem.
Thakur also castigated the Divisional Commissioner for dishonoring the BJP leaders and state office bearers stating that the move reflects non-serious approach of the divisional administration as names of BJP leaders had grave mistakes let alone designations.
