| 63RD ANNUAL RAISING DAY OF HOMEGUARDS / CIVIL DEFENCE CELEBERATED | | | | Srinagar December 07:- The 63rd Annual Raising Day of Homeguards and Civil Defense was celebrated today, 06 December 2025, at SDRF 2nd Battalion Headquarters, Gulshan Ground, Jammu.Shri Abdul Ghani Mir, IPS, DGP/Commandant GeneralHG/CD & SDRF Jammu & Kashmir, who was the Chief Guest, congratulated all personnel on the occasion and highlighted the duties and responsibilities of Homeguards and Civil Defence volunteers as first responders during any disaster. He praised the role and assistance extended by the officers and volunteers of Civil Defence and Homeguards during the past year. The Chief Guest also stressed the importance of preparedness for future challenges and their readiness to respond to any eventuality. During the event, greeting messages from Her Excellency the President of India, the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT J&K, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, UT J&K, and senior dignitaries of the Government of India and the Union Territory Administration were read out. Shri Mohammad Arshad, JKPS, DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu and Director Homeguards Jammu, also addressed the gathering. On this occasion, Civil Defence and Homeguard volunteers of Jammu Province who demonstrated dedication and commitment during the past year were honoured with Mementos and Commendation Certificates by the Chief Guest. Cash rewards were distributed as follows: Rs. 10,000/- each to 7 civilians and 1 Civil Defence Warden Rs. 5,000/- each to 4 Civil Defence Wardens and 1 VHG Rs. 3,000/- each to 7 SPOs These awards were presented in recognition of their excellent performance during Operation Sindoor and their efficient response during recent cloudburst situations. Those present on the occasion included Shri Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, SSP, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn Jammu; Shri Mohd. Rafi Giri, JKPS, SSP, Staff Officer to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K; Dy.SP Tajinder Kour, SO to DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu; Dy.SP Zia-ul-Haq, Deputy Controller C Jammu; Dy.SP Dev Raj, Principal CTI HG/CD Kot Bhalwal Jammu, along with Civil Defence wardens, volunteer Homeguards, and officers/officials of SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu
Celebration at SDRF 1st Battalion, Srinagar
The Annual Raising Day was also celebrated at SDRF 1st Battalion, Srinagar. Shri Ramesh Kumar Angral, JKPS, Director Home Guards Kashmir, was the Chief Guest, while Shri Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Director Civil Defence & SDRF Kashmir, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The event witnessed the presence of Shri Masroor Ahmad Mir, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn Srinagar, all Deputy Controllers Civil Defence/Area Commandants Homeguards of Kashmir Province, contingents of SDRF, NDRF, VHGs, CD Wardens/Volunteers, and officers/officials of Homeguards, Civil Defence & SDRF of Kashmir Province.Commendation Certificates with cash rewards of Rs. 10,000/- each, awarded by the Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K, were presented to civilians who displayed exemplary bravery and commendable efforts in saving human lives following the Pahalgam attack on 22 April 2025 and the powerful explosion at Police Station Nowgam, Srinagar on 14 November 2025. Additionally, Commendation Certificates with cash rewards of Rs. 5,000/- each were presented to Civil Defence Wardens and Volunteers for their extraordinary performance in conducting Civil Defence training/awareness camps and rescue activities At the conclusion of the event, all participating field officers reaffirmed that Homeguards and Civil Defence volunteers will continue to perforrm their duties with dedication and commitment in the future, as they have consistently done in the past. | | | | |
