Centre sanctions Rs 1.76 crore for Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme
 
New Delhi, June 22 (Agencies): Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 1,76,90,000 (Rupees One Crore Seventy Six Lacs Ninety Thousand) to Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan(NYKS) for conducting Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme for 1200 Kashmiri youth from 6 districts of Kashmir valley in Jammu and Kashmir. NYKS is an autonomous body under Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India.

200 participants will be selected from each of six districts of Kashmir Valley viz. Anantnag, Kupwara, Baramulla, Budgam, Srinagar and Pulwama. Young people in the age group of 18-22 years will be considered for participation in this programme. The youth exchange programme will be conducted between September and November, 2018. The programme will be organized at 10 different places in the country viz. Kolkata, Pondicherry, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Thiruvanathapuram. State Director of NYKS in Jammu and Kashmir and District Youth Coordinators of Nehru Yuva Kendra in the abovementioned 6 districts of Kashmir valley will be Nodal Officers for Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme.

The programme is intended to give exposure to Kashmiri youth to the technological and industrial advancement in the different parts of the country and to motivate them to get involved and participate in the socio-economic, cultural and political environment and development process of the country.
