Government has reduced prices of various medicines and health care products :PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the government is constantly working to provide affordable healthcare to every Indian. He said that government aims to eradicate tuberculosis from India by 2025, five years ahead of a globally-set deadline.
Interacting with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojna, Mr Modi said, due to illness, the financial burden is immense for the poor and the middle class. Mr Modi said, the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojna has been launched to ensure the poor get access to affordable medicines. He said, several people are benefitting due to the Yojana across India.

Mr Modi said, the Government has reduced prices of stents substantially and this is helping the poor and the middle class the most. He said, the Swachh Bharat Mission is playing a central role in creating a healthy India. He said over three thousand Janaushadhi Kendras are operational across the country, where more than 700 quality medicines are available for diabetes, cardiac, blood pressure and other ailments.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister said that , knee transplants have become cheaper now. During interaction one of the beneficiaries shared that for the last three years he has been undergoing dialysis and the treatment in private hospitals was turning out to be expensive.

The dialysis centres of the Government have reduced his costs. Ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21, the Prime Minister also appealed to people to practice yoga and make it a part of their life.
