PM Modi visits Viswa Bharati University in West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina arrived at Viswa Bharati University this morning to attend the convocation ceremony.
The PM arrived in his chopper at Panagarh in Bardhaman West district around 10am and left for the convocation venue soon after. He was greeted with a bouquet of flowers by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on his arrival. Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and senior leaders of West Bengal BJP unit were also present at the helipad to welcome the Prime Minister. Both Prime Minister Modi and Bangladesh PM signed the visitors' book at the university before taking to the dais at the convocation venue.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit Jharkhand on Friday. He will lay the foundation stone of various projects of Central and state governments, including Ranchi City Gas Distribution Project, All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Deoghar, development of Deoghar Airport and revival of Sindri Fertilizer Project. He will also interact with the District Collectors of Aspirational Districts of Jharkhand, in Ranchi.

Prime Minister Modi during his Jharkhand visit, will lay the foundation stone of the revival of the Sindri Urea plant. The plant, shut for two decades, near Dhanbad, is being revived
with an investment of about 7 thousand crore rupees.

The Centre's special emphasis is to make India self-sufficient in urea production. Keeping this in mind, the target is to once again start production in the 5 fertiliser factories that include Barauni and Gorakhpur by 2021.

The PM will also lay the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Deoghar, for strengthening health services in the state.

It will cost 1,103 crore rupees. This 750 bedded hospital will be build on 237 acre land, which will be completed in the next four years. PM will also witness the exchange of MoUs for 'jan aushadhi kendras'

PM will also lay the foundation stone of 4 thousand MegaWatt Super thermal power plant in Patratu, Ramgarh and is joint venture with NTPC. It will have three units in the first phase which will be ready by 2021 and it will cost about 18 thousand crores.

PM will also lay the foundation stone of development of Deoghar Airport as well Ranchi City Gas Distribution Project by GAIL.

Later, the Prime Minister will interact with the District Collectors of Aspirational Districts of Jharkhand, in Ranchi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina at Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan in West Bengal on Friday. He will also inaugurate the Bangladesh Bhawan at the campus, which is a symbol of the cultural ties between India and Bangladesh. Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina will be present at both these events.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to West Bengal on Friday where he will host Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina at Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan. It would be his maiden visit to the University after becoming its chancellor.

Prime Minister Modi will also attend the convocation ceremony of Visva-Bharati University along with the prime minister of Bangladesh. He will give away degrees to students during the convocation.

Both Prime Ministers will share the dais for the inauguration of Bangladesh Bhawan. The Bhawan will house a library of books published in that country and a museum which will showcase its fight for freedom from the erstwhile West Pakistan.
